There are 3 phases involved in producing a media presentation, they are: Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production. Listed below are some if not all of the elements that may or not be in your production phases.

Pre-Production
Planning meetings to define your goals, define audience, build the concept, treatment/style and visual approach/look and feel.
Consider incorporating any existing media into production
Create budget and production timetable.
Determine Script writing duties and script reviews process.
Prepare shot lists
Sound track planning, will there be voiceovers, narration, music?
Scouting locations
Discuss artwork,color schemes, logos
Schedule crew and equipment
Casting for Narrators or Actors if required

Production
Videotaping on locations
Location Audio recording
Videotaping in studio if required

Create Animation and titles
Create original music if required

Post-Production
Tape viewing and choose best shots/takes
Create an Edit decision list.
Sound studio mixing.
